Yong is a parent at Lorien Novalis . He has been an international businessman for the past 20 years. Yong translates Steiner lectures into Chinese from English and German. He is also a keen Bio Dynamic gardener.
Stuart grew up in a dairy farming community in Northern England prior to emigrating to Australia as a young teenager- the eldest of six children. His first career was as a pilot in the RAAF where he served 20 years followed by another 20 years in the RAAF Active Reserve in Operations and Intelligence. Stuart came to Lorien Novalis as a parent in 1976 and later as a Science and Maths teacher in 1985.
Before retiring, Stuart was responsible for the operational aspects of Lorien Novalis School. Stuart is also the writer of the National Steiner Technology Curriculum. Stuart has over 30 years of experience in school leadership and administration and was instrumental in negotiating Lorien Novalis’ first high school registration in 1987. Stuart brings to the Board a wealth of experience and knowledge in leadership and governance, through his backgrounds in education and the military. He is renowned for his creative solutions and problem-solving capacities.

Melody received her Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees from California State University in Developmental and Educational Psychology. She participated in a nationally funded infant research project and taught at the University of California for 10 years, then worked as an Educational Specialist for Developmentally disabled infants and children for an additional 9 years. She began her teacher training in Steiner Education in 1989 and taught in the early childhood and kindergarten classes at the Orange County Waldorf School.
In 1998 Melody and her family moved to Sydney and she began her work at Lorien, initially in the Learning Support Program, then as a class teacher for fourteen years. She participated in the Notre Dame Bachelor of Education Degree course and is currently teaching subjects across the Lorien school curriculum. Melody has been a Board Member for the past 5 years.
John has been connected with Lorien Novalis for about 35 years as a parent and grandparent at the school, as well as being the parent of one of our current teachers. Before retiring, John was principal Engineer/Manager of the Electro Medical unit of the Department of Public Works and he brings with him financial, technical and business skills which will greatly help with his role on the Board.
Together with his business skills John currently serves as a Director of the Sydney Anthroposophical Society, where he has previously held roles such as treasurer, secretary. John regularly gives lectures and runs workshops and study groups on the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, which gives him a firm basis and understanding in supporting the direction of the school. John has recently re-joined Loren Novalis as a director.

Glenn was born and educated in England gaining a BSc in Mathematics at the University of Aston and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Wolverhampton Polytechnic GB. As a teacher Glenn has taught Maths to A level HSC and computer studies to GCE Level Yr 10 in high school. As a trainer Glenn has developed and delivered courses for leading UK and Australian companies, and completed the Australian Institute of Management Train the Trainer Course. As a delivery executive he managed teams to support the HR, marketing and ISC businesses, being responsible for the overall health of account utilisation and business metrics. Glenn brings to the Board of Lorien a unique skills set which include;-

Leanne Clark, is a parent of Lorien Novalis School with two children in lower primary. Leanne has been a high school teacher for over 20 years, 14 years of those years at Lorien Novalis School, where she has primarily been the senior high school mathematics teacher. Three years ago, Leanne took on the position of high school coordinator. Leanne has previously been a member of the Lorien Novalis School Board of Directors, and has previously been a member of the School’s College of Teachers.
Lillia is our Lorien Novalis Kindergarten teacher. She has been a dedicated member of the Lorien teaching staff for over twenty years. She is a member of Senior College and was the leader of the Lorien fair committee for many years.
Norman was born into a newly immigrated German family and grew up on a Bio Dynamic farm in the Bega Valley. He joined Lorien Novalis as a student teacher in 1974 and has always been involved in teaching and administration. Norman has held the following roles in school governance:

Norman brings to the school over 40 years of experience working on Boards and in school leadership. His experience and knowledge of governance in NSW,VIC and SA as well as abroad, brings a diverse perspective to regulatory practice and governance process to the Board. Norman is a warrior for the ethos and values of Steiner Education and particularly Lorien Novalis.
Neil has been a parent and Board member at Lorien for many years. As an accountant he brings to the Board his financial expertise in strategic planning, annual budgeting and fiscal management. Neil is a;-

- Registered Self Managed Super Fund Auditor
- Tax Agent
- Justice of the Peace.
Neil has operated his own taxation practice since 1988.
