All about the Parents & Friends Association, what they do and how you can get involved

Lorien Novalis Parents & Friends Association

The Lorien Novalis P&F was established in 2013 and actively works to support our school in providing an inspiring and comprehensive learning experience. Our mission is to create a respectful and co-operative environment where Lorien parents and friends can contribute to enhancing our community's educational and social experience. This is achieved through:

  • Working in partnership with the school
  • Raising funds to enhance the school
  • Fostering an inclusive community spirit
  • Building a collaborative community to undertake projects and events
  • Assisting in caring for the physical buildings and grounds
  • Increasing understanding of Rudolf Steiner's philosophies
  • Promoting the benefits of education at Lorien Novalis to the wider community

If you would like more information on how to become involved or have a suggestion for new activities/events please join us at the next P&F Meeting (held twice per term on a Monday night) or email us.

  • P&F Newsletter
The P&F produces a newsletter containing stories about events and information about upcoming P&F activities. Contributions from the parent community are welcome. P&F news can be found on the School News Page.
  • Grounds & Gardens
Throughout the year, days are planned to bring together the school community for the beautification and upkeep of our grounds and gardens. Parents also assist in the regular tending of the biodynamic farm located in the heart of our school. Whether you are a true green thumb or someone who just loves fresh air, please come along to our next gardening date and contribute to the functional and aesthetic maintenance of our school – many hands do indeed make light work when wheelbarrows are involved! Please join the school P&F Facebook Page to be notified of the next date.
  • Craft Group
Each Friday 12.30-3.00pm during school term, the craft group meets in the newly refurbished Novalis College room. Parents and children are invited to join – no experience necessary! The craft group creates a variety of beautiful decorations, textiles and toys for sale through the Mallorn Tree shop, Lorien Fair or Market Days to raise funds for our school. A great way to hone your skills and meet other parents in a fun environment, it's also a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into your child's crafting journey at school and a deeper understanding of Steiner philosophy.
  • Parent Meet & Greet
Once a term a morning gathering is organised where parents can meet and hear about key areas relating to their child's educational journey at Lorien Novalis. Topics include experiences of Annual Winter Festival and Benefits of Class Trips. Please join the school P&F Facebook Page to be notified of the next date.
  • Malorn Tree Shop
Nestled under the Maples Building at the top of the car park, Mallorn Tree sells a colourful array of unique handmade toys, art materials, clothes and accessories, as well as a range of quality pre-loved clothing. The shop warmly welcomes the school community as well as the general public.
